FAQ
What is CBD?
CBD (cannabidiol) is one of over 100 active chemical compounds (or ‘cannabinoids’) in the cannabis plant. It’s usually the second-most abundant cannabinoid in marijuana, and the most abundant in hemp.
Does CBD come from hemp or marijuana, or both? And what’s the difference?
CBD can be found in both hemp and marijuana, but is most abundant in hemp.
Marijuana and Hemp are different varieties of the same species of plant (Cannabis sativa).
Think cherry tomato vs a regular beefsteak tomato.
Industrial Hemp is legally distinguished from marijuana by having below 0.3% THC.
What’s the difference between THC and CBD?
THC affects the brain by binding to naturally-occurring CB-1 receptors in the central nervous system. CBD is a differently-shaped molecule that binds to CB-1 and 2 receptors in cell and body tissues outside the central nervous system, altering the activity of the receptors.
THC is also an intoxicating compound, meaning it produces the “high”. CBD is non-intoxicating.
Will CBD get me high?
No, CBD is non-intoxicating meaning it does not produce a “high”.
In fact, CBD is used by some people to counteract the high produced from THC.
How do I take CBD?
Most CBD products come in the form of an oil, that is taken sublingually (or under the tongue).
These are the most effective products for daily use. CBD can also come in capsules, vapable liquids, topical creams, edibles, and you can even find high-CBD strains of smokable cannabis.
CBD can be found in marijuana, what are some high-CBD strains?
Charlotte’s Web and ACDC are two well known high-CBD strains.
MediHaze, CBD Mango Haze, Blueberry Essence, Hawaiian Dream, Sour Tsunami, and Darkstar are other notable ones.
What is CBD Oil?
CBD oil is a liquid cannabis extract that contains virtually pure CBD.
Our full spectrum oils are put in a pure organic hemp seed oil, but you can find CBD put in other oils as well.
How does CBD work?
Short answer: CBD functions by binding to cannabinoid receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system. These receptors have been found in virtually every cell and tissue type in the human body (hence the seemingly endless array of CBD uses).

Is CBD Legal in Ohio?
Under the 2014 U.S. Farm Bill, and then re-iterated in the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill, industrial hemp was made legal. In 2019, Ohio passed our “Hemp Bill,” SB57, making industrial hemp legal in Ohio. Any CBD product from industrial hemp is 100% federally legal. Any CBD product from industrial hemp is also 100% legal in the state of Ohio. Any CBD product no matter what plant it comes from is legal in medical states.
Is CBD natural?
Yes! CBD is a completely natural compound found within the cannabis plant. It is NOT synthetically produced.
Do all marijuana strains have CBD?
Not all marijuana strains have CBD in the flowering buds, but yes all strains contain CBD somewhere in the plant. This is why those who use marijuana can still benefit from CBD!
How is CBD extracted from the cannabis plant?
CO2 extraction is one common method to extract pure CBD isolate, in which state it exists as a clear/white crystal. Many other extraction methods exist and some may require extra steps to ensure contaminants are removed. There are pros and cons to each extraction method and there is no best method, as what the extract will be used for can determine the best extraction method for the particular situation.
Are there side effects to using CBD? Is it safe?
A significant danger/side effect of the drug is in vaping CBD oils that were produced using a thinning agent, such as propylene glycol. When burned/vaped, propylene glycol produces formaldehyde, which is a known carcinogen.
Other than that, most research has concluded that CBD is safe and well tolerated, though some users have reported drowsiness, lightheadedness, low blood pressure, dry mouth, diarrhea, and decreased appetite.
There are some medication interactions with CBD as well. If you are taking other medications, and are thinking about taking CBD, talk to your doctor, or healthcare provider, to make sure it is safe for you to take.
Can I cook with CBD?
Absolutely! CBD infused oils are a great addition to any recipe! There are many CBD cookbooks and online recipes available!
Given the boiling point of CBD, however, cooking temperatures are lower, typically less than 350 degrees.
Are there medical studies on CBD?
Thousands of scientific/medical peer-reviewed studies have been carried out specifically on CBD. ProjectCBD is a non-profit organization devoted to documenting the research on CBD. You can find them at www.projectcbd.org
Do topical CBD products work?
CBD topicals have been used by people for skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema, as well as for localized muscle soreness and joint pain resulting from arthritis-induced inflammation.
CBD Expert Tip: Our tincture is made with organic hemp seed oil, making it safe for topical use!
Our topical products also contain other ingredients that are known to help pain and inflammation to provide a synergistic effect. Many people will actually use both a sublingual CBD oil plus a CBD topical product!
Will I fail a drug test if I use CBD?
There is a chance that any CBD product will produce a positive drug test. As mentioned before, CBD is 100% legal federally and in the state of Ohio. We encourage customers to be proactive and speak with their HR department.
Most people will not fail a drug test using Full Spectrum CBD, but it can happen. If you are concerned, try our pure CBD Isolate Oil with lab tests showing no THC detected!
Also, if your drug test is looking for other cannabinoids (such as CBD specifically), and not just THC, then it will be positive as well.
How do I know how much to take?
This is a tricky question with no definitive answer. It really comes down to how your body interacts with the product. Most adults use anywhere from 10mg-50mg a day for moderate and under conditions. Serious conditions could need up to 100mg or more per day. One dropperful of our 1,500 mg oil is 50 mg of CBD. We recommend taking 25 mg (half a dropper or 0.5 mL) everyday for a 5-7 days. At the end of that week you can see if you need to adjust the dose based on how you’re feeling. You keep repeating this process until you find your ideal dose.
Can my pet use CBD oil?
Our pets can also suffer from the same diseases that people can, such as anxiety, arthritis, etc. In addition, animals also have an endocannabinoid system! Try our Pet Tincture/Oil. CBD dosing for our furry friends is based on weight: 1-5 mg of CBD for every 10 lbs of body weight. Just like in people, start at a lower dose, and increase slowly as needed.
